新加坡建國總理李光耀23日凌晨病逝，享壽91歲，消息傳來，兩岸領導人馬英九、習近平分別對星國表達哀悼與慰問。李光耀生前與台灣歷任總統都見過面，並會晤了五任大陸國家領導人，也是兩岸領袖都信任的「傳話者」。大陸將由國家領導人應邀赴新加坡出席29日李光耀的葬禮，台灣方面，外交部尚未決定前往弔唁的人選。
